Planning: Method & Strategy

First, a suitable project planning method has to be defined.

1. Choice of Method

An experience in computer architecture teaches that complex distributed computer systems are designed like large building projects in civil engineering or construction. Therefore one can speak of computer architecture. The chosen synergetic planning model now used in this article is SIA 112 [1]. SIA stands for the Swiss Engineering and Architects Association.

2. Strategic Planning

This section 2 outlines the first step in SIA 112.

2.1. Formulation of Needs

We need a worldwide solution that allows anyone to watch every concert in real time through a single portal on the Internet. The global high-performance communications infrastructure enables such a solution. Rights of the artists and their representatives in these performances must be safeguarded through accounting models.

2.2. Approaches and Strategies for Solutions

Even commercial vendors are increasingly using open source software to reduce development costs. An open source project development team saves money because its members use components for free, but may also need to provide their work – depending on the licensing model – to the society. Lengthy negotiation phases between contract partners are thus avoided.

Volunteers, commercial, governmental and international supporters are welcome to create such a supraregional cultural network that presents live music across borders, offering artists new revenue opportunities.

Computer architecture: Repeater servers with low data transmission costs and spread across the earth, allow connections to regional end users. A unified Debian Linux server distribution with pre-configured settings ensures safe operation of the Earth Concert Hall (ECH) nodes. Payment services are handled by external specialists, reducing the security risk for ECH servers.
